Jennings: They should go to work

Roginsky: So should congress. Why did they abandon the house to not vote on the Epstein files?

Jennings: It was the August recess

Roginsky: It was not the August recess. They left early.

weird how the guy born into obscene wealth, bailed out repeatedly, allowed to fail upwards forever until he fell ass-backwards into the presidency, and then was declared by the Supreme Court to be a Very Special Boy Who Can Crime Forever never stops whining about how everything is rigged against him

Hochul: "I will put saving democracy as my top priority at any cost. Bc it's under siege. Just like those who put on uniforms to fight battles across the ages. For centuries we stood up & fought. Blood has been shed. This is our moment in to stand up for all we hold dear & not let it be destroyed."

I’m excited to be joining Stephen Colbert tonight on “The Late Show.”

Back in 2013, I joined “The Colbert Report” to discuss how we build an economy that works for the many, not just the few.

Jessica: I also heard no complaints when Mike Johnson decided to abdicate his job to say actually congress isn't in session anymore because I don't want to have to vote on turning over the Epstein files…. so be equal opportunity in your complaints about fleeing your job

i have been thinking a lot about how the entire concept of “the deal” is antithetical to transparency, fair play and rule of law, as larry notes. the deal is necessarily nonstandard, ad hoc and dependent on the whims of the dealmaker

The idea that President can negotiate/dictate bilateral “deals” by using the full force of the federal government to punish and humiliate his perceived enemies goes against the whole idea of the rule of law. That should be the story, rather than normalizing this authoritarian behavior.

@jamestalarico.bsky.social: "We're here in IL, the land of Lincoln... When he was a state senator in 1840, broke quorum by jumping out of a window in the statehouse. I believe my colleagues and I are participating in a long tradition of standing up to bullies, civil disobedience, of good trouble."

The President of the United States went on CNBC today and said: He won the 2020 election (he didn’t). He has a 71% approval rating (he doesn’t). The jobs numbers were rigged (they weren’t).

I could say something funny here, but I won’t. It’s just so damn dangerous to have him in the White House.

The Oversight Committee subpoenaed the DOJ for the Epstein files. They now have 2 weeks to Release the files to the committee.

It’s time to find out who’s been protected, who thought they were above the Law, and who’s been hiding behind power.

Not surprised to see Aileen Cannon sealing all evidence regarding the orange felon’s fake assassination attempt involving Ryan Routh since she’s yet another criminal who was installed to help cover up for the orange felon just like Pam Bondi has done with the Epstein files.

Eleven more libraries will reopen on Sundays, thanks to the leadership of the City Council. They never should've been closed in the first place.

As Mayor, I'll end this absurd budget dance that keeps our beloved libraries in limbo year after year.
11 more NYC libraries will soon open on Sundays
A $2 million City Council deal will expand seven-day service to more than 30 branches citywide.

The political economy of the super-elite in one headline.

I have been the subject of many spurious accusations and politically motivated attacks, but this one is in a class by itself. According to Tulsi Gabbard — the nation’s top intelligence official — my refusal to post on Twitter is being reviewed by the Department of Justice as evidence of wrongdoing.
I’m Not panicking. I’m Outraged.
