Great new video about lobbying in Brussels - and because it can be quite confusing, we've got cats helping us unpack it all 😂 great job from CEO's media wizard, Marcella 🪄
Who lobbies the EU?
Not just corporations — but a whole ecosystem of actors:
NGOs and trade unions, but mostly corporate lobbyists, trade and industry groups, consultancies, law firms, and think tanks.

🔦It’s time to shine a light on their murky world!

REVEALED: heavy lobbying by the airline industries against Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), which is far from sustainable anyway.

Oh the irony: The EU gets off Russian gas so it can't be weaponised (eg support for Ukraine), and gets onto US LNG. But now Trump looks like he's going to weaponise it to stop any reaction over Greenland.

There was a moment just after Russia's invasion when the EU could have taken another path...

Glad to see TotalEnergies is coping well with the declining LNG and oil prices:

It made up for the loss through selling off investments in renewables!!! Laugh? Cry?

Just 32 companies? 🤯
A mere handful, but let's not forget we've an entire economic system based on coal oil & gas, with a myriad of polluting interests all lobbying for the climate-wrecking fuels.

Dismantling fossil fuels means dismantling capitalism.

"What the Commission frames as simplification is, in practice, a downward drift in regulatory reach that erodes the informational foundations of effective governance."
