That's a first for me. Let's see what their User Safety team says about this.

Hi 👋 Librarian at the Internet Archive here.

Last week’s announcement that @archive.org is now a Federal Depository Library sparked some great questions—so we put together a new FAQ to explain what this means (and what it doesn’t). 👉 help.archive.org/help/federal...

One of the people I met in Google SCL Deep Dice is getting anxious over what advice he would follow right now, given that the top of the SERP AI Overview and the AI Overviews within the PAA presents completely different answers.

Perhaps something to do with the new Chrome version, the one that is trying to kill adblockers? Seeing a load of Reddit threads about folks jumping to different browsers…
These reports are based on samples of what we know for your site, and sometimes the overall sample size for a site changes. That's not indicative of a problem. I'd focus on the samples with issues (in your case it looks fine), rather than the absolute counts.

If you've seen a sudden drop in the total # of URLs in your Google Search Console Core Web Vitals field data report - don't worry about it.

The same trend appears over dozens of sites I've checked. It's a Google thing, not you.

Am I too late to the party? 🎉

Two weeks ago I received my invite to Google’s Search Central Live Deep Dive Asia Pacific 2025 in Bangkok. Google's first-ever Deep Dive format and my first time at a Search Central event.
If anyone has cool food places to suggest, hit me with a message!

Give me something to build.

I'm 21 builds away from my target of 52 for the year.

Whatever I build for you, will be given to you, all code & database.

Something you've had in your head for a while. I really want to stress test vibe code building.

Be reasonable.

The LLM/vector database approach for redirects is overkill for most sites.

Great for huge, messy enterprise migrations, but for small to midsize sites, simpler methods like slug matching or basic plugins are faster, cheaper, & easier to QA.

Use the right tool for your site’s scale!

This is specualtive but I think this an early sign that they already have it within one of their internal documents that they will be releasing Mariner to other countries in 12 months or less. Or maybe this is just a mistake on their end.

Damn. I wish I could believe it but given how wonky things can get and how the retrieval of information occurs, I feel like its a long way to go.
