Began cleaning my home office of dust, dirt, crumbs, and clutter. It already feels way better in there. Have so much recycling to take out and then need to open the windows and sage it out, probably tomorrow!

I just scrolled by Homicide: Life on the Streets and almost hit play … until I saw the episode title: The Subway. No ma’am! Nobody doing that on a Christmas Eve! In fact I don’t think I can ever watch that one again. It haunted me for years when i first saw it. #IYKYK

Mom told me that when I was a kid in Okinawa I came downstairs Xmas Eve (parents & friends were playing cards & smoking like you do in the 60s) & said, “get out of my house or Santa can’t come.” This is right before I went to the neighbors & asked if they wanted to buy a baby (@sweetg1.bsky.social)!

One of my mom‘s rare failures was her inability to get me to give a crap about stoves and cooking. Still can’t do more than boil water. But she did instill in me an obscene love of shopping and #FrenchHistorianShoes, for which I will be eternally grateful. Merry Christmas, mama. I miss you.
