Solar Balconies Are Booming in Germany and You Can Plug in and Install Them Yourself
Easy to install—such that many do it themselves, the technology makes every bit of sense as rooftop PV solar panels.

Rivers are heating up faster than the air. That's a problem for aquatic life and people
Cold-water fish such as trout and salmon are especially vulnerable:
Warmer water also holds less oxygen, potentially suffocating aquatic life.

fascinating that so much of the pro-AC push comes specifically from right-wing groups (centre-right to far-right)

Doesn't mean AC is a bad idea, to be clear. Should at least inspire some caution on the shape policy takes to ensure fair and beneficial outcomes (which the right do not like)

The discourse surrounding precipitation changes in a warming climate (both public discussion and even scientific one at times) is complicated by widespread conflation of changes in averages vs extremes (and also actual vs *potential* evaporation/evaporative demand). [Thread]

For every 1°C rise in temperature, the atmosphere holds ~7% more water vapor, which heightens the risk of extreme rainfall. But warming also make soils dry out, harden, and lose their ability to absorb water, making flooding more likely when heavy rains come.

Wind and solar are a gigantic opportunity for US energy independence and leadership.

In Texas, ALL of the electricity generation growth over the last decade came from wind and solar.
