I am in awe of the craftiness of the NYT reporter who pitched her editor on spending the paper’s money to have her travel like Eric Adams so she could describe the experience to readers.

(If the story was actually an editor’s idea, I want to write for that editor!)
Lie-flat Seats and Chilled Champagne: Testing Eric Adams’s Upgrade Life
The New York mayor is accused of accepting free luxury travel in exchange for political favors. How large was he living? A writer puts the experience to the test.

In case the NYT wanted to do some journalism instead of swinging Trump's nuts, maybe follow up on MAGA threatening minimum wage workers because JD Vance has a dogshit advance team

What does it MEAN to be an extrovert? I wrote about my own experiences with the label, and the sometimes specious science behind the introvert-extrovert binary, for the Guardian:

I’ve been a ‘people person’ since before I could talk. But am I an extrovert?
Making friends and communicating is a joy to me – but my outspokenness can also be a thin veneer masking anxiety

so many complaints about video game protagonists boil down to "I can't relate to a protagonist that isn't a straight white man like me"

you're so close, guys

now imagine you are not a straight white man, and still want a protagonist like you

how many options do you have? that's why we need more

Any time I can combine the photography of mushrooms with wildlife, I'm extremely happy. On Bluesky I only post mushrooms, but I also focus on wildlife photography. Finding scenes like this Douglas squirrel eating some fungi while clinging to a tree makes me so happy! 🌲🐿💋🍄📷📸🎞
