It's genuinely concerning how any time I can ever think of learning why something controversial or bad has happened in comics the answer always turned out to be editorial spite. Not incompetence, just being assholes.

Has anyone ever done the concept of a movie or book or game which is intentionally written and marketed as a sequel, but the thing it's a sequel to doesn't actually exist?

What happened to PlayHighguard? Was it a fake account? Did they delete it because of legal problems? Or was it real and they just killed it because they were getting clowned on?

For the physical switch 2 editions of switch 1 games, are the upgraded versions of the game directly on the card? Or or they just switch 1 games that have an extra line that says "beep boop upgrade download auto approved"?

I like in a meta sense that Neo Metal Sonic is one of Shadow's bosses in Generations but not Sonic's, because Shadow kind of snatched away the role Metal Sonic had as the cool, violent, "bad" version of Sonic. There's another timeline where Metal kept his role and he became a full on character.
