Friends. If you live or work in DC, and you encounter an unhoused person give them some kindness. A few bucks, a metro card, and ask them if you can call the shelter hotline for them. 202-399-7093.

It seems to me a great many of DC’s elected officials and government employees are so concerned about not losing Home Rule that they’d happily give up our autonomy to keep it. #FreeDC

I’d like to point out that for the amount of $ Americans spent on legalized gambling in 2024, we could house every last homeless person in the country at market rate for multiple years. Homelessness is not just a political failure, but a societal failure. #priorities.
