I created a feed for people who are interested in suicidology, or research on suicide, self harm, and related topics. It also tends to pick up other public reports, like newspaper articles, and job postings, which feels like more of a feature than a bug.

The patterns have been consistent.

When students protest against racist speech on campus, they’re labeled as coddled snowflakes who need to welcome outdated modes of thought on campus. It’s a free speech issue when folks are defending others rights to say racist or similar ideas.

Last week, Boston received a letter from AG Bondi threatening to prosecute officials and withhold funds unless we cooperate with carrying out mass deportations.

The US Attorney General asked for a response by today, so here it is: stop attacking our cities to hide your administration’s failures.

America cannot long remain free, nor first among nations, if it becomes the kind of place where universities are dismantled because they don't align politically with the current head of the government.

This survey is a vital resource for researchers and the public to track the prevalence and impact of drug use and mental health problems in the US. It's a VITAL database.

And it's just going to be gone. Devastating.
The entire National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH) team at SAMHSA was terminated today.

Do not listen to the platitudes of this administration when they say they care about drug overdose, addiction, mental health, or suicide.

My family and I took a roadtrip to DC for the Stand Up For Science rally. My son used to come with us to protests before COVID, and I felt like it was important to include him.

He’s affected by these issues, too. Our coming move out of the states, due to these issues, directly affects him.

Like because of the chaos at NIH (and the freezing of funding), how my team has been waiting for NOAs for two non-competing renewals since mid-January.

This sums up so much.
The Army deleted my “Why I served” video where I talked about how I decided I wanted to attend West Point/join the Army after one of the cadets my family used to sponsor died in combat. Probably deleted because she was the first black woman to be CSM at West Point.
