Mainly following the Russian invasion of Ukraine - reliably sources only

With Trump winning the US elections, negotiations between Ukraine and Russia are back in sight.

I decided to make a thread about what might be on the table for both sides.

Views are purely my own, so feel free to respond if you believe that something is missing or incorrect.

There is a funny paradox in the message that Iran might want to share about the current state of the uranium.

Let’s assume both cases one by one:

Visually confirmed Russian tank losses have now reached:

4️⃣0️⃣0️⃣0️⃣

Insane.
Our total count of visually documented Russian tank losses (destroyed + damaged + abandoned + captured) during their 2022 invasion of Ukraine has just exceeded 4000!

What an epic failure from a self-proclaimed military superpower.

American war planning usually takes place in highly secure facilities. But the Trump administration planned its strikes on the Houthis using a group chat—and accidentally included The Atlantic’s editor in chief, Jeffrey Goldberg. theatln.tc/IuULQFiY
The Trump Administration Accidentally Texted Me Its War Plans
U.S. national-security leaders included me in a group chat about upcoming military strikes in Yemen. I didn’t think it could be real. Then the bombs started falling.

A summary of the latest news of SAMP/T

Eventhough the first SAMP/T was delivered to Ukraine almost 2 years ago, there were (until a week ago) almost no reports about its usage.

Rishi Sunak, the former PM of the UK, has advocated for seizing the frozen Russian assets and providing them to Ukraine.
Rishi Sunak: It’s our moral duty to seize Russian assets to help Ukraine
Kyiv needs more resources and extra pressure must be put on Russia. The legal and practical objections to seizing Moscow’s frozen assets can be overcome

For the first time I have read something (in WSJ) about the SAMP/T performance:

“the system’s software struggled and it failed to hit ballistic missiles.”

Around 90 Patriot missiles have been transferred from Israel to Ukraine (via USA), according to Axios.

Now what is interesting, is that they also mentioned that an Israeli Patriot system will end up in Ukraine.

Ukraine has very skilled people. Also, they have more experience than anyone, with a very big variety of Western and Soviet SAM systems.

Of each existing solution, they know its qualities and its limitations.

They should be able to make the right choices and develop a high quality SAM.
Ukraine is developing its own air defense system, says Commander-in-Chief Syrsky.

"We have the capacity to create it and are already working on it. Our system aims to rival the Patriot in performance," he said.

A new military aid package from the UK:
"The United Kingdom is providing Ukraine with a new aid package: 150 artillery pieces and a new mobile air defense system." - Starmer announced.

According to the Prime Minister, UK-manufactured artillery could arrive in Ukraine within weeks.

Ukraine seems to be increasing their rate of attacks on Russian oil facilities.

If Ukraine can keep up such high attack numbers then it will be very interesting to follow how this will impact the already struggling Russian economy.
Confirmed, another Russian oil depot has been successfully struck. According to claims in Telegram it is the oil depot in Liski, Voronezh region, Russia.

Clearly, there is a campaign ongoing to mortally wound Russia’s oil, gas and fuel industry, including its exports.
