Federal agents deployed tear gas on thousands of union members, families, and community members while we protested peacefully today.

This was an attack on working people and an unacceptable escalation from federal agents in Portland.

@mplsunions.bsky.social President Chelsie Glaubitz Gabiou spoke to NPR about why workers called for an economic black out.

ICE is causing havoc and widespread fear across our communities and every industry we work in.

#OregonLabor stands in unwavering solidarity with Minnesota.

#ICEout

“Just yesterday, tens of thousands of Minnesotans peacefully exercised our right to free speech without incident. When ICE is involved, nonviolent protesters and legal observers are gassed, assaulted, and shot."

ICE’s tactics harm our communities, making people less safe and creating a climate of fear that prevents people from working, shopping or sending their children to school. We stand with the @mnaflcio.org labor movement as it fights for our values.

There is apparently no state in the U.S. where a full-time minimum-wage worker can afford a modest two-bedroom apartment, according to the National Low Income Housing Coalition.

That’s not a personal failure — it’s a systemic problem.
