Safe staffing saves lives.

We see when a patient needs more support, but too often Kaiser frontline healthcare workers are told “there’s no budget.”

This is how care suffers, and it’s why we’re demanding safe staffing solutions now.

Kathy Schmidt has been part of Kaiser for 45+ years—as an RN, union leader, and patient.

She’s seen how short staffing can delay care and hurt patients.

Settling this contract is how we recruit and retain the healthcare workers our communities deserve.

Last year, Kaiser had $12.9 billion in net revenue—more than Amazon—and paid its CEO Greg Adams over $12 million.

We’re fighting for safe, quality care for every patient.

And we’re not backing down because Kaiser can afford to staff safely.

While we are concerned about patients waiting longer for appointments and nurses & health professionals leaving, CEO Greg Adams is hoarding $70 billion in reserves and spending millions on temporary workers instead of investing in the dedicated healthcare workers who make quality care possible.

Why does an organization with $67.4 billion in reserves claim they don’t have enough money to pay their healthcare professionals fair wages? Kaiser’s math doesn’t add up! #onevoiceonefuture #onevoiceonefightonefuture #unionstrong #kaiserstrike #1u
It's the largest strike of the year: a 5-day walkout of 45,000 workers at Kaiser hospitals on the West Coast.
While they seek better pay and staffing, the "nonprofit" has $67.4 billion in reserves and is heavily invested in hedge funds and private equity. @exposedbycmd.bsky.social has the story:
As Kaiser Workers Strike, ‘Not-for-Profit’ Is Sitting on $67 Billion
Kaiser has doubled down on hedge funds, outside staffing firms, and high executive compensation as workers lag behind.

Kaiser says it’s proud to serve 12.5 million members, but instead of investing in local nurses, it wants the right to assign travel RNs at will.

These temporary nurses cost more while permanent staff face short staffing.
