There should be a little section at the end of every Ed policy/academic paper that says explicitly how much harder teachers are going to have to work to make x thing work—it’s basically never mentioned, but does seem to matter?

Them: “I’m sick of subsidizing their groceries when mine cost so much”

SNAP does not drive up grocery prices.

That would be inflation, tariffs & corporate greed.

For every $1 spent on SNAP there’s a $1.50 going back into the economy.

While you’re blaming the poor, the rich are robbing everyone.

No matter how you dress them up, reward/punishment based attendance initiatives are ableist and classist. But they’re easier than working on the barriers that keep kids from attending school…or making the mental shift required to support kids who are absent. Which is why they keep popping up.

It’s not that we didn’t want the shutdown to end, it’s the fact that millions of people suffered throughout this shutdown and it was for nothing. That’s the most upsetting part.

Their commitment to terrorizing trans people is disgusting. Also, exhausting because of the uncertainty it creates.
Restricting the ability to change your gender marker on a passport carries zero applicable benefit. It’s ONLY about terrorizing a small population to acclimatize the public to government attacks on marginalized groups.

It's never too late to grasp that if someone works full-time and receives SNAP, it means YOUR taxpayer dollars are subsidizing the COMPANY because it refuses to pay them a livable wage.

While there are 42M on SNAP that we know of, but I believe the number of food insecure is much higher. Those who qualify, but are afraid of being stigmatized for using the help their tax dollars paid into. For decades, the GOP has pushed, that to be a ‘good American’ you have to suffer…YOU DON’T!!!

When I tell you Krishnadasan's opponent had signs EVERYwhere, I am not exaggerating. The amount of money that poured into making it look like there was local support for someone who hates so much of what WA is about was ridiculous. This win is a reminder you can't buy an election.
Democratic state Sen. Deb Krishnadasan was holding off Republican Rep. Michelle Caldier on Tuesday in an expensive battle cast as a bellwether of the political mood in Washington.

Today, Mike Johnson will keep the House adjourned for the 91st day out of the last 103.

12 days of work in 103 days.

With full pay and benefits.

The senate has been working, so this is not about the shutdown.

It is about avoiding a vote to release the Epstein files.

Walmart, McDonalds and Amazon are the largest employers of people who require SNAP assistance.

The CEOs earned between 18-40 million last year, 1000x their median employee income.

They took billions in profits, while their workers relied on SNAP to survive.

Wanna fix fraud and abuse?

Fix that.

Medicare for All would save $450B a year.

Every dollar spent on food stamps generates $1.50-$1.80 in economic activity.

Each dollar going to low-wage workers adds $1.20 to the economy overall.

It’s not about what this country can or can’t afford.

It’s about priorities.

It’s like they’ve never met anyone doing this work. The kind of people who do the work that qualifies for PSLF at the organizations that qualify for PSLF aren’t going to change just because PSLF is gone. If money were the only motivator we wouldn’t be in this line of work.
Tomorrow, the Trump-Vance admin will publish a new rule allowing the Dept of Ed to disqualify employers from Public Service Loan Forgiveness that disagree w/ their right-wing agenda.

It’s an unlawful attack on nurses, teachers, first responders & public service workers.

We will see them in court.
