Came up with a cool synth patch earlier, worked it into a sequence and got more than a bit excited before realising I'd basically just recreated the intro to Aphex Twin's "Digeridoo"...

Hamlet of Sampford Spiney, Devon, once the centre of one of the many courts leet across England. The courts regulated some of the systems that made daily life work, employing officials including my favourite ever job title, the 'Brook Looker' - responsible for maintaining waterways + bridges.

Farmer friends have 3 left of a litter of border collie pups and I am being actively lobbied on the subject by certain members of the household. Help!

If you don't know this extraordinary record, or the story of how it was made it then dive in - you really won't regret it...

There's a great episode of Sideways on Radio 4 here where @musex1.bsky.social talks in detail about the process.

If anything characterises the turbulent cycle of history we are currently living through, it's the relentless clown car parade of "impossible to foresee" socio-political catastrophes that were, in fact, entirely fucking possible to foresee by anyone with even a barely functional frontal lobe.

Here's the developer's promo photos of the site from back in 2012... to say it has deteriorated is somewhat underselling it.

This is a wonderful series of images.... and a thought-provoking and insightful read.
My current and ongoing project has reached a point where I am settled with its direction. Would love to hear any feedback and more than happy if you want to share.

Going to be a while before I'm back on a bike and after knee surgery I fear my singlespeeding days might be over so musing about whether to sell my Surly 1x1.

I swore I'd never do so. I've owned it for over 16 years and it's my daily driver and still my favourite ride... have so many good memories.

Used to live near here, and it was a regular stop on one of my MTB routes - like all the Medway Megaliths, it's a special, but also quite eerie place, perhaps even more so because of its proximity to the infrastructure of modern life, with the drone of the M20 always audible in the valley below.
I had a lovely (if rather damp) day out with the one and only @stonelands.bsky.social on Sunday, during which she introduced me to Coldrum Long Barrow in Kent. Its name is possibly derived from the old Cornish word 'Galdrum' which means 'place of enchantments'. #TombTuesday
