Watch out! There's a Humphrey about!
Without revealing your actual age, what's something you remember that if you told a younger person they wouldn't understand?

Another night ruined by my CGM erroneously reporting low blood sugar. Readings are 3-4 lower than finger prick measures. This is the third sensor in a row that's doing that.

In February I spent 14 hours in Resus with diabetic ketoacidosis. Turns out my pancreas had given up. Nearly died then managed to get it under control with insulin injections. Really proud I'm now in range 95% of the time
Quote this with what you have accomplished in 2025, no matter how big or small
Reading & writing has kept me alive this year.

Somehow, it’s been my most productive year as an author.

Here’s a guide to what I’ve published in 2025, in case you’ve lost track.

What's always puzzled me about Raiders of the Lost Ark is how the Germans are operating overtly in Egypt in 1936. The treaty limiting British troops in Egypt to 10,000 maximum wasn't ratified until 22nd December. There were over 2,400 infantry in Cairo alone

One of the 'fun' disability things they don't tell you is sometimes you'll have to choose between two methods of dealing with a disability issue but they both will cause you some kind of damage (that's different to your disability)

EXPLAIN YOUR USERNAME

It’s a nickname my cousin gave me after my first amputation. She changed it to "Metric" after the second one as I can't measure using feet any more
EXPLAIN YOUR USERNAME

It’s just a terrible, terrible pun, ok? 🤭

Just a reminder that he's not "former sit-com writer" anymore. The correct appellation is "convicted criminal".

Why do we keep treating people who were good at PE as if they have something serious to say?

Why do bipeds sit in the wheelchair space on the tube/train when there are lots of other seats?

Anyone with solid advice and resources etc to back up those of us not wanting to use planet-killing predictive text machines?
My manager has clearly been told to tell us all to start using CoPilot in our emails and ceremony scripts.

My response was “over my dead body”.

Anyone got any helpful articles or further reading so I can be better informed before our team meeting next week? ❤️

For some reason work has set up a big day long meeting in Liverpool. Because there's only 2 wheelchair spaces in Standard per train, the earliest train with space to get home will get me into Euston at 0016. Then it's an hour by bus home. For some reason that train takes an extra hour as well.
