If nothing else today, revel in the fact that Wes Streeting may have inadvertently scuppered his own chances at Leadership down the line.

Farage doesn’t work from home either. He’s never in Clacton.
🚨 WATCH: Nigel Farage calls for an end to working from home and the focus on work-life balance

"People aren't more productive working from home - it's a load of nonsense. They're more productive being with other fellow human beings"

What’s Sarwar’s plan if Starmer goes today and Scottish Labour still get destroyed in May?
February 9, 2026 at 2:47 PM
It would be nice to see Starmer fight back and grow some balls but I doubt it.
February 9, 2026 at 2:45 PM
I can’t really see a long term solution for Starmer here. How does he play this? If he could hang on to May and Labour got annihilated then maybe that would be the last straw?

Anas Sarwar has made it clear that his loyalty lies to Scotland so he won’t be seeking the job in Number 10, right?
February 9, 2026 at 2:39 PM
I don’t like Sarwar at all.
February 9, 2026 at 2:35 PM
I know this isn’t the point but… Danny Beales MP is hot af.

Excellent throwback.
Is John Sergeant on the steps of the Paris embassy yet?

We need somebody old and experienced, not a young fresh face who is Presidential. Grab somebody from the Lords because this is all pathetic and it’s about time a grown up takes charge. Europe is on the brink of war.

There’s going to be a General Election before 2029, isn’t there?

And we all know what will happen.

Imagine if Barbara Castle had been PM from 1979-1990.
February 9, 2026 at 2:07 PM
Christ, we need a Barbara Castle right now.

Who realistically could lead Labour? The only decent people are in the Lords or retired.

Burnham is the only one who the public seem to like.

They’re scrambling for the last lifeboat off a sinking ship and maybe Sarwar is hoping to avoid scrutiny if the PM takes the fall and ideally closes the scandal.
Anas Sarwar, long-term ally of Peter Mandelson, is going to call for his long-term ally Keir Starmer, long-term ally of Peter Mandelson, to resign over hiring Peter Pandelson.

I'm not convinced I understand the thinking going on here but I'm interested in where they think they're going with it.
Huge breaking news. Anas Sarwar is going to call for Sir Keir Starmer to quit. Emergency press conference at 2.30pm. Follow @heraldscotland.bsky.social live blog here www.heraldscotland.com/news/2583840...

Imagine if I’d told you back in 2004 that there would be a full blown Labour civil war in the 2020s over… Peter Mandelson.

Starmer has lost Sarwar and Scottish Labour. I wonder if Manchester is next?
