When somebody great dies we always say that the world feels a little dimmer but in this case the whole intellectual and artistic health of the human race feels diminished.
I’m dumbstruck by news of the death of Tom Stoppard—maybe because he hoarded all the words and knew how to use them better than just about anyone. I hope we savor his spectacular wit and erudition and argue about the politics of his plays forever. He was monumental, and also a kind and curious man.

I’m not too sure how I feel about Pillion so I think it’ll need a rewatch. Is it saying all Dom/Sub relationships won’t endure, or won’t endure without clear parameters? Is it a critique on the naïvety of youth and transgression into a new queer environment without guidance? I’m unsure.
