@joyannreid.bsky.social Forever changed my life!

Disabled voices are rarely heard in politics. I emailed her show on a whim. To my surprise, they invited me (a nobody) to speak about the ableism of politicians. She took a chance on me when no one else would. Joy deserved better. #DisabilitySky

He might as well be saying only people who deserve it get it. Sounds like the typical republican life story of "I didn't care until it happened to me".

This isn’t new. When Nikki Glaser hosted the Golden Globes, she made jokes about serial rapist and abuser Diddy.

Nikki found humor in the fact that R. Kelly is a pedophile. She wouldn't do this to Harvey Weinstein victims. White women rape victims are seen as more worthy of humanity and respect.

We’re not doing “disability accommodations are unnecessary and unfair actually” discourse less than 24 hours after Alice Wong has passed. Absolutely the fuck not, even if it is a perfect example of the kind of shit disabled people have to deal with and why Alice’s activism was and is so necessary.

As a long-time admirer of Alice Wong, I’m heartbroken and a bit shaken by her passing. 😢💔

You never think your heroes are going to die, and she was truly a Wonder Woman here on Earth. Alice, you will forever be missed and loved by me and countless others.

Rest in power!

Idk what she said or what racist context you need for Nikki Glaser's joke to be funny but uh, white people need to shut the fuck up and not joke about raping Native women.

You were incredible, Alice Wong, and it was a blessing to have collaborated with you on projects, to have read your words and to have heard your voice, as full of life and passion and joy and rage as it was.

You made a difference—so much of a difference.

Rest always in peace, and always in power.

Our beloved Alice Wong has joined the ancestors. It was one of the great honors of my life to call Alice my friend, co-author & co-conspirator. She was a true genius, a force of nature the likes of which the world has never seen before. I love you, Alice, and am equal parts grateful and devastated

Trump will force everyone on SNAP to reapply to cut fraud.

I was BORN A QUADRIPLEGIC. America has been forcing me to prove my disability every 6-12 months since 1982 to keep my Social Security, Medicaid, and SNAP! Cases of fraud are under 3%! This will only create more work for everyone!

People don't understand cancer at all. It's why you have so many people on the internet saying we need to fund more cancer research because we should have found a cure by now, not realizing that there are MANY different types of cancers, all caused by different things and act different in people
Though I feel for James Van Der Beek, he is struggling to pay for cancer treatment, partly due to his own ableism.

He thought he could treat his colon cancer symptoms w/ diet changes, only ppl w/ sedentary lifestyles get cancer, and he's married to an anti-vaccine “health and wellness influencer.”

He’s never heard of toddlers with cancer? Student athletes get cancer too. What bubble has he been living in?
“I thought, I probably need to change my diet a little bit...and it didn't improve. I'd always associated cancer with age and with unhealthy, sedentary lifestyles.

But I was in amazing cardiovascular shape. I tried to eat healthy — or as far as I knew it at the time.”

Was not Mrs. Kelly one of the women who was sexually assaulted by the Fox News dude?

You would think. . .
I hope Megyn Kelly’s daughter is okay. I couldn’t imagine my mom saying no stupid shit like that and while I exist as a teenager.

This wouldn’t apply to this situation specifically. Modern medicine still supports the same ableist beliefs that James Van Der Beek held, which delayed his diagnosis.

How often do doctors attribute poor diet and sedentary lifestyle to cancer and just tell their patients to lose weight and exercise?
November 14, 2025 at 2:09 PM
Celebrities who struggle to pay for medical or cancer treatment are not the same as the average American cancer patient who faces financial hardship. It’s time to stop the comparison, as they are still the privileged class.
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.

Folks are only offended bc Megyn Kelly was talking about white teenage girls.

We saw Megyn Kelly say an innocent 15-year-old Black teenage girl, Dajerria Becton, kneed in the back by a racist white cop was “no saint either.” Where was the outrage then?

Megyn was rewarded with an NBC talk show.

Today, Oklahoma is set to execute Tremane Wood even though a state panel recommended his life is spared
Tremane Wood is currently on death row, despite his older brother admitting to killing victim Ronnie Wipf in 2002.

Next week, he will have the chance to make his case for mercy.

Oklahoma's attorney general is fighting to ensure his death anyway.

Then the school tried to expel me for missing too many days.

We must stop normalizing pushing through illness.
