The theoretical resignation of both the President and the VP will result in Senate Pres (Tito Sotto) as Acting President, but only temporarily.

A special presidential election must be called within 2 months. The current VP is not barred then from running for President.; she will likely win.

I’m no longer in the faith & all that stuff. But I cannot imagine assembling these words in this order to the **Pope** Even pondering that action brings back every withering glare I have ever received from every nun who ever taught me. Bring back nun-induced shame! For people like this specifically!
really enjoying all the people trying to explain the bible to the pope today

I remember the day Lean Alejandro was assassinated for his political beliefs. He was then only 27. His killers have never been caught or tried.

Maps like these and the underlying granular barangay vote data, now establish there are dozens of pink/progressive barangays across nation. If the Leni coalition concentrates on running their candidates and seizing councils in next barangay polls, that's a narrative that carries into 2028.

Through the popularity (matchless in the 1980s) of his wrestling persona built on exaggeration, as well as his later-in-life role as a plaintiff, Hulk Hogan was an indispensable contributor to the American way as it exists today. That is his legacy.

The Supreme Court’s “shadow docket” has cast very different shadows depending on which party holds the White House.

When lower courts blocked Trump admin policies, SCOTUS intervened on an emergency basis to lift those orders in 77% of cases.

For the Biden administration, that number was 0%.

The most rotten thing about JD Vance is that he has three half-Indian children including a son name "Vivek," yet he still prattles on about how you must descend from the Europeans who'd settled America prior to 1861 in order for your citizenship to be valid.
People who feel bad for JD Vance’s kids as family gets booed at Disneyland. I get it, but better those kids know now what their father is about. Other kids are watching their parents get shipped off to gulags.

I want to reiterate that countless conservative judges issued universal injunctions against the Biden administration, and the Supreme Court never halted the practice. Now, barely five months into Trump's second term, the court puts an end to these injunctions. A brazen double standard.

Based on crowd-sourced records of No Kings Day event turnout, and extrapolating for the cities where we don't have data yet, it looks like roughly 4-6 million people protested Trump across the U.S. yesterday. That's nearly 2% of the U.S. pop!

Mobilized anti-Trump resistance is exceeding 2017 levels
"No Kings Day" protests turn out millions
Our unofficial estimate is that around 4 million people attended a protest event yesterday. Anti-Trump resistance is outpacing 2017.

Independence is self-reliance. Independence is thus diffcult, unnerving. Some rush into it unmindful of consequence, others tread cautiously but definitely. Whatever the case, independence requires bravery above all.

Happy Independence Day bayan ko.

Jose Corazon de Jesus -- Huseng Batute -- the King of Balagtasan (and the Tagalog lyricist of Bayan Ko) was able to record for Columbia Records two records before his death in May 1932. It would be phenomenal if copies of these records were to be discovered as still existing.
