Hello followers! Are you in the right place? I post about cemeteries, folklore, Newfoundland, crafting, D&D, and other assorted (spooky) foolishness. I’m pro science, pro 2SLGBTQ+, pro climate change is real and anti racism, transphobia, homophobia, and simping for billionaires.
One of the men in this picture is my great grandfather James Delaney, part of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment. A paper maker from Placentia, he enlisted in 1917, just 20 years old. When he was discharged in 1919 he moved to Grand Falls. I never met him but I remember my great grandmother

Begging indie horror movie writers/directors to write friend groups that I actually care about and not a collection of trashbags. I want to root for these people to survive. I want to care when they die. Please!

Mamdani got a humanities degree.

His win helps to illustrate that one of the central forces driving higher ed’s dissolution of the humanities is the fear that teaching people how power works can also lead to their interest in seizing it on behalf of the less powerful.

Everyone stayed awake to watch a sports game but I stayed awake to finish a bad book so I can force my friend to read it

Told a ghost story and talked about cemeteries on the radio tonight and now my parents want me to give them a tour of my favourite local cemetery

Today was the @talkdeath.bsky.social Cemetery Scavenger Hunt and I had a lot of fun running around in the cemetery (but I don't think I won)

There's a crazy amount of rain right now. Something magical about sitting in the dark, hugging a cat, and hearing the downpour rush over the house like a river

Picked up the prizes for my 11th annual pumpkin carving contest today. I'm excited to see what everyone is going to carve!

On my way back from bloodwork today I had the misfortune to stop at a light near a truck with both a Fuck Trudeau sticker and a Fuck Furey sticker. Neither of those men are in charge anymore. You couldn't afford new stickers? Imagine making that your whole personality

We're literally cooked, you guys. This is who you voted in. They'll keep denying this until it's too late and then throw up their hands and say "well, nothing we can do now"

Took a stroll in my favorite cemetery today and was singing the song that was stuck in my head out loud. In retrospect, maybe this wasn't the song to be singing while wandering the cemetery.

Despite voting in the last two provincial elections from the same address, I am somehow not on the voter list for this election and will have to register again tomorrow. Does anyone know why this happens?

My best friend and I saw this post on Instagram about horror movies and we've decided to set up a watch schedule that follows these themes (though we expanded the summer into different types of teen/kid horror) /1

Oh how the gentle wind
Beckons through the leaves
As autumn colours fall
Dancing in a swirl
Of golden memories
The loveliest lies of all

Man I don't know that I've ever paid attention to the number amounts for votes in the municipal election before, but they seem really dismal? I'm glad most of the people I voted for got elected. But damn, is voter turn out always this small?

Today is my D&D group's second annual Soupsgiving. I'm bringing pozole rojo. The Mexican grocery store only have comically large cans of hominy so I see more pozole in my future.
