Denial is a troublesome problem. Fascism isn't really a surprise; it's helped shape what US society is today. For @prismreports.org, I wrote about how refusing to accept the reality of how we got here aids fascist growth. We have to confront many contradictions.

Another way out: How denying reality aids fascism
Fascism doesn’t just thrive on hate—it also feeds on denial. As institutions crumble and history is rewritten, the refusal to confront reality becomes one of the most dangerous political acts of all

Our beloved Alice Wong has joined the ancestors. It was one of the great honors of my life to call Alice my friend, co-author & co-conspirator. She was a true genius, a force of nature the likes of which the world has never seen before. I love you, Alice, and am equal parts grateful and devastated

Pregant?
Pregnant!
September 27, 2025 at 2:47 PM
There was always fear. Pregant women (rightfully so) ask a lot of questions and deliberate carefully over the advice/recommendations they are being given. Never had one scenario where that was not the case.

This business erodes trust and further *heightens* the fear unneccesarily.

All of this is so deeply upsetting because children will have preventable febrile seizures, mothers may miscarry due to untreated fever, and some pregnancies will be more challenging due to unmanaged pain. There are no upsides to this reckless misinformation from the top just harm and pain.

The thing about health disinformation is that when it comes from the highest office, people believe it. Parents & pregnant women want to do the right thing but are now making health decisions based on fear.
This is causing real harm.
It's also making our jobs as healthcare professionals harder.

This was called “incidental contact” by the on air crew.

That’s like if I called a blizzard “a little snow”
Alyssa Thomas steals the ball from Phee, Cheryl Reeve asolutely loses her mind and has to be held back by several members of the staff before finally leaving after being ejected. Phee's leg collided with Thomas's and she rolled her ankle badly

I am wondering if I understsnd physics differently than the people saying the contact was Napheesa’s fault. I admittedly cannot stand AT but what was Phee supposed to do…ascend in to the air????

So today I learned that Daniel Patrick Moynihan, the white social scientist who pontificated on the "crisis of the negro family", denigrated black mothers as matriarchs and decried 'absentee' black fathers was himself raised by a single mom after his alcoholic father abandoned their family.

Was just having this same thought. A lot of the worry about ourselves only posts on here are demoralizing and counter to our history. We have a rich legacy of internationalism.

Maybe the best example yet of how smartphones are the primary weapon that global authoritarians are using to take over the world.

In a world in which politically palatable downstream thinking reigns, teaching upstream determination of health inequity can be difficult.

But it’s what "global health” shld be about.

In this paper led by Neha Faruqui we share lessons from our experience & observations!
