I'd buy one of these, but I've driven one before. It's a beast, no power steering, drum brakes. Not an easy thing to drive around, really.

An hour driving this thing around, you'll be all "I can't fight this steering anymore, I've forgotten what I started stoppin for, etc."

Ok, need to shut one thing down immediately. "JDV" is only to be used for Joey Votto. I will not compromise on this issue.

This is a wonderful article, it's funny and silly and incredibly clear about the subversiveness of absurdity. Please read it.

If you need to take some time to figure out what’s real vs what you wanted to be real, take that time without shame. The whole world has conspired to make sure you never made it far enough to reconsider your positions. Once you do, and you’re ready for battle again, make them pay for lying to you.

Grieve the version of humanity you believed in, the one where everyone wants good things for everyone else. It’s a beautiful vision for the future, but a fantasy of the past and present. We will never get to a future we’ve dreamed of if we won’t admit we’re not living in that dream right now.

Ninguid [NING-gwid]
(adj.)
Snowy; covered in a great quantity of snow.

Used in a sentence:
“The world looked magical under a ninguid blanket, each tree and shrub adorned in sparkling white, as if nature herself had dressed for a lavish winter ball.”

It's a shame Jeff Bezos can't afford to operate a paper that successfully covered the most important news in the world for ~135 years before he bought it. Maybe we need to lower taxes on the rich. Maybe we can fix this with a salary cap. Oh, never mind, wrong billionaire income protection device.
According to an internal email to Washington Post sports staff, the paper isn't sending any reporters to cover the winter Olympics next month. The decision comes as major layoffs are expected in the coming weeks.
