By the way does anyone reading this experience motion sickness when using the in-editor flight camera in #UnrealEngine ? If you do, read this because I fixed it for our team so it might fix it for you:

You experience motion sickness with the in-editor flight camera? I've got a fix!
I’ve been working on an unreal 5 project with my partner for about 5 months. 2 months ago we hit a wall because she felt motion sick when using the in-editor wasd flight camera. So much so that she co...

My entry in the #1024Challenge 💕

A remake of my Jackalope model, now condensed to 1024 tris and a single 1k texture!

I also made the model a free download for my Kofi members to enjoy 💕

Here's my submission for the #1024Challenge! This was really fun to do, and I'm happy with how it ended up looking!
This was also really good practice for whenever I get to make lowpoly stuff in the near-ish future.

You really only need ONE player who cares about what’s happening session to session 🤔
I recognize that there are a lot of different types of D&D players and that I am absolutely a head empty one. Will I remember the overarching point of the campaign? No. Will I absolutely follow whatever singular character trait I set myself? Absolutely.

I'm not I understand this #tariffs things from a european perspective. Does that mean will mean buying in europe from US companies producing goods in china will be more expensive ?

I think I've been "Dark woke" since even before the term was coined, like back in the 1995. I've always been a brutal realist in my descriptions of the international and ecological situation.

This is a dream come true. It looks amazing and terrifying but comes with the fact that the original Jurassic Park will now be very different for me: I would just keep thinking and lamenting about the possibilities while watching it.
I did it again!

For most of my life, I hated the idea of honorifics: they seemed designed to reinforce power structures.

But lately I find myself wishing that I had some way to address people in the game industry in a way that is shows professional respect without being over-familiar

This thing about "the game not being about the player" is something that was talked about by the W3's dev team as "living and breathing world".
I think they were thinking along the same lines.

Really good thread about how to create feelings stronger than wonder, called awe in this thread. Max talks about it from the angle of hugeness, It got me thinking. It is a deep #GameDesign worth discussing.
Twitter thread re-post (05/2022):

"How do games intrinsically motivate players to explore" is a favorite #GameDesign topic of mine.

Many of the games that do this achieve it partially by evoking a sense of awe while exploring their worlds.

Let's talk about how that works in games

I concur, I don't work without unit tests any more, I'd go as far as to say that they are the only way to scale up a game without loosing your sanity.

For my first post I am going to write about what I would call my experience with the Diablo series. Growing up with old computers in the 90s Diablo 1 was huge for me as a youg adult: I could afford it and it ran ok on the aging apple computer my grandfather gifted to my parents.

It occurs to me, after reading posts getting it spectacularly wrong, that there are a lot of misconceptions over how game studios organize and, in particular, who makes the actual decisions about what ends up in your game. Much of it is by folks who don't *try* to get it... but not all, surely. 1/🧵
