For gamedev I'd say yes, I myself only have a bachelor. What you need is the skill required and a passion for games. GameDesign is a very hard job to get though, you'll have better luck on a programming position.

Well it is immensily useful for someone with an intuition about game design but no words to describe it. Having words and a clear articulation of the concept makes it possible to turn it into an actionable plan. I mean I have a plan but I believe it's gonna improve!

So what I came up with was to make a narrative rpg in a small town that has light elements of city building a simple economy and of course quests that affects them. Not sure how far I'll go with it, it is very ambitous, but reading your post made me feel I am going in the right direction. Thanks !
