Friends. Disconnect your Ring cameras, if you have one. Return it. Do something. Don’t help ICE round up your neighbors.

In the past few months Amazon Ring made Al and facial detection opt-in for all users. Worse, they altered existing features such that your footage can end up in the hands of Flock Safety, the company responsible for 80,000 license plate readers across the country. ICE has been documented using Flock to know exactly where to go to find susceptible community members. Don't help ICE round up your neighbors. What can I do? You can get a full refund directly from Amazon. Request a refund telling them their agreement with Flock is a massive breach of trust and invalidates the reason you invested into their security products. They are giving these refunds because what they are doing this is blatantly against the Terms and Conditions under which you originally purchased. Reolink or Defender PhoenixM2 are great comparable camera alternatives.

We will stop in the town square for a vigil before marching back to McIlvoy Park.

There’s a vote in DC tomorrow that would give DHS $11 billion more in funding. Schumer and Jeffries have already walked back any “demands” they had for DHS.

I, for one, do not think this timing is just a coincidence. Turn down the temp for the vote. Turn it right back up when the bag is secured.

HHS is canceling $600 million in CDC grants for HIV and STD prevention in CA, IL, CO, and MN that were marked for state and local health departments, hospitals, universities and non-governmental organizations. These cuts conspicuously correspond to areas of DHS operations as well.
