A slightly obtuse dialectical point to be made here is how capitalism is one particular issue within a series of other social issues (patriarchy, ecology, racism, etc.), but it is the particular element that structures the entire field. It is the particular that "colours" and all other particulars.
It might seem like a cop-out to blame capitalism for so many things, but once you look for it, you see how it subverts every sphere of human life. Advance far enough in any field and you’ll become aware of open secrets that things are being done poorly or even dangerously because of profit motive.
