Fruit trees rule, don’t they ⁉️ My yard has: two Gala apple 🍏 , two blueberries 🫐 , one olive 🫒 , one cherry 🍒 , an aloe half as big as a compact car, roses 🥀 a dozen flavors and colors all w remarkable scents. I know roses aren’t usually considered fruit however we make cookies using petals.

About that government shutdown: Remember that Republicans control the House of Representatives. They control the Senate. And the White House. The radical republican right is in complete control. The shutdown is entirely their doing. Don’t let them duck responsibility.

The Blackfeet tribe is having to cull some of their Bison herd to feed their people. Some of these people live in poverty and rely on SNAP to survive. We stole their land, put them on Reservations and snatched their children to convert them to white man ways. 🥲

Soft secession. Blue states building parallel systems, withholding cooperation, and creating facts on the ground that render federal authority meaningless within their borders.

“Without state cooperation, much of the federal government’s agenda becomes unenforceable.”
It’s Time for Americans to Start Talking About “Soft Secession”
Blue states are finally learning what red states have known all along: you don’t need federal permission to govern.

I don't resent poor people who use food stamps to buy another soft drink.

I resent rich people who take away the funds for food stamps to buy another yacht.

If you’re happy about SNAP benefits being cut & are going to church this morning you’re neither a Christian nor a good person. You’re a heartless cunt.

If SNAP benefits vanished tomorrow, feeding 42 million Americans for a month would cost about $7.8 billion. That’s less than 1% of the combined net worth of the three richest men in the U.S. A reminder of how obscene inequality has become and how easily hunger could be solved if we chose to.
