BREAKING: Yesterday Grand Theft Auto VI maker Rockstar Games fired dozens of people, all of whom were involved in union efforts. A British union calls it "blatant and ruthless" union-busting. Take-Two Interactive says it was due to misconduct.

I see pieces like this a lot, often w/ a spin of lamenting cultural degeneration, but reading is a LABOR issue, it’s declined because so many people are working overtime or two jobs & employers expect after hours work. France has Earth’s highest reading rate b/c long lunch breaks & labor protections

The layoffs at IGN are unconscionable. But I’m seeing a lot of takes here from gamers that “union is bad” “you join a union you’re gonna get got” and I would love for everyone to point their fingers in the right direction. IGN is run by a multibillion dollar company. They didn’t need to do this.
