If *I* were a political consultant I'd talk numbers like this too. I understand dems don't care about immigrants, refugees, the homeless, but if someone wanted to style themselves as a modern FDR without raising taxes, this would be a good place to start. But what do I know?
Imagine if instead of guns and pepper spray they all had blankets and boxes of food and medicine? Imagine the government sending a thousand social workers and construction workers to a city with a large homeless population building modular homes and providing healthcare. Prolly cost about the same.

When you've fired a trans writer for not being sad about the death of a fascist, this is clearly the next move if you wanna double down on your bullshit.

My kid often gives me one of her toys in the morning as I head out to work to keep my company. We need to build a world worthy of her.

I don't feel like a whole lot has changed about me in my fatherhood, but movies like Cobweb certainly hit way different.

A classic. Essential.
#sludgepit NO TIGER is a collection of poetry from the underworld of Another place. it thrums with filthy anger:hot lyrics & prose poetry with ample destruction of body, sex after apocalypse, eradication of self w/n the hellscape of digitized warfare spectacle

shorts make no money and generate no real channel growth but everyone feels like they gotta make 'em anyway. You don't! It's fine!
My YouTube shorts got 662,000 views last year and the ad revenue from them was $140 lol
A couple of Youtubers I watch have done videos now about how their views are way down, and how Youtube is prioritizing short form, clickbait titles/thumbnails, and "videos that start in the midst of the action" and *my god* all I hate all three of these.

This is the opposite of what I like.

Never Angeline North, perhaps
in 2026 instead of lore-diving whatever giant franchise benefits from your engagement try doing it with any writer/director with a substantial body of work but no “fandom”. Marie Ndiaye. Maryse Conde. Samuel Fuller. See where it gets you. If you gotta have a static setting do Mervyn Peake

so we watched this last night and it occurred to me that Iron Giant and The Incredibles are all "about" masculinity. which makes their mid century aesthetics pretty perfect for the theme.
my wife and I have been together for sixteen years including dating, and this christmas for the first time we got each other the same gift: the Iron Giant on bluray. merry xmas fellow weirdos.

I make film zines. It used to be my job to write about weird movies, it's not my job now but it's still good to do. I put lots of work into the zines because I don't like essays to be basic. Below, covers for zines about Hitchcock, lesbian vampires, and Scream, all handmade. sara-century.square.site
