This is absolutely true. Time to change it.
American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.

If this sellout truly was orchestrated so that retiring/non-2026 senators took the fall for others who wanted this but are up next year (e.g., Ossoff, Warner), there is no way Schumer was not involved. They would need him to pull this off.

If these 8-10 Dems cave, every other Dem senator should vote no and Jeffries should whip all House Ds to vote no. DO NOT GIVE THEM COVER. Voters gave them cover on Tuesday and they are throwing it away.
