Sakura Wars 2 contains a post-game mode called Long Day that contains a bunch of cool bonus content. One of the small extras I enjoyed was the ability to watch flashbacks of certain scenes through the perspective of the heroines. These include rare sprites of Ogami that you don’t see anywhere else.

Finished Sakura Wars 2: Thou Shalt Not Die
A perfect sequel in practically every way. They took every aspect of the first game that worked and improved upon it, while also simultaneously making some of the weaker aspects of the first game even better. Absolutely fantastic game. Longish thread:

So overall, Sakura Wars 2 is a quintessential example of a perfect sequel. It's just genuinely such an improvement over the first game in every way and it's a near perfect game in my book honestly. VERY VERY great stuff and I highly recommend both this and the first game!

Also shoutouts to the translation team! They did a DAMN good job on this game that I imagine was a fucking nightmare to program and get functioning in a modded state lmao. There's so much love poured into the translation, dare I say as much as was put into the game by the devs.

Finally played through the first Sakura Wars game. I haven’t played a vn before so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but this was a lot of fun! I can see why it’s had such a following all these years later.

An update on #SakuraWars2. We thought we could finish it this year, but to ensure a polished finished product, we’re doing another play through to catch any remaining issues we might’ve missed. As mentioned in this thread, the game is fully translated and playable though!

An update on #SakuraWars2. We thought we could finish it this year, but to ensure a polished finished product, we’re doing another play through to catch any remaining issues we might’ve missed. As mentioned in this thread, the game is fully translated and playable though!
Just finished Dragon Force 2. This game is a hidden gem. It was highly addictive. I couldn’t put my phone down. Having RetroArch available on my phone has made this into the ultimate mobile gaming device for me. I think I’ll finely be able to get through by Saturn backlog.

Finally playing through Dragon Force 2 and I’ve gotta say, this game is great! I recall it being mediocre while working on the patch, but it’s just as fun as the original. The only thing holding it back is the music.

#SakuraWars2 has a bunch of different minigames. All of these contain their own set of images and files. The one that’s been the most time consuming to fix up was the “Trump Wars” card game.
