The Newfoundland and Labrador Federation of Labour has a proud history of uniting and representing workers since 1936.
Workers and their families are forced to make "tough decisions" on basics while while corporations and billionaires rake in massive profits.

Another 4 - 6% increase in food prices will make it even tougher on people who are already struggling.

A big thank you to the workers braving the elements to restore power after last night's storm.

Stay safe out there!

The rights to free and fair collective bargaining and to strike are under attack. Worker and their unions must stand united to protect these rights.

Workers are already feeling the pinch. In response, wages need to keep pace with inflation, laws must make it easier to unionize, social supports have to reach those most at risk, and we must rein in profiteering by grocery giants.

Today, we solemnly mark the anniversary of the misogynist attack at École Polytechnique in Montreal. On December 6, 1989, fourteen young women were murdered because they were women.

We remember. We mourn. We act.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

Shame on the Alberta government for using legislation to strip workers of their right to strike and to free and fair collective bargaining.

We stand in solidarity with the teachers and all workers who oppose these heavy- handed measures.

MUN plays a crucial role in our province. It has a special obligation to the people of this province.

That obligation can't be met without proper funding.

We stand in solidarity with the students, faculty, and staff who are fighting to protect this vital institution.

To be crystal clear: it's not about what the scientists "told CBC News", not just informed opinion. The science itself is very clear. The advantages of unionization are obvious, so why don’t more workers join unions?

Employer-led union suppression strategies are a key explanatory factor.
