I’m not even sure if Trump cares whether or not he can actually “run” Venezuela or not. Most of his foreign policy actions in his second term have been all about short term gain, flashy shows of force and/or “deal making,“ and then walking away. He may not even be talking about Venezuela in 2 weeks.

Lotta news coming out of Venezuela much of it bad but I have to say it is both wildly irresponsible and quintessentially Trump that we’re apparently acting like we’re already in charge of the country when as far as I can tell the government hasn’t surrendered and we don’t have troops on the ground.

What’s more likely than him dying is him continuing to muddle his way thru the next four years in a more and more sour mood, with poor working memory, and high stress which well isn’t great though there’s some schadenfreude knowing he won’t be enjoying it.
