I will be the first to make an argument for pragmatic, tactical alliances but it is rather striking how blatant people’s double standards can be.

It’s almost like purity tests are more about defining an in group and out group than regulating morality.

lol the struggle is real

Being in a party also means specialization pays off better than in a game like Elder Scrolls because other players can fill the skill gaps (assuming you’re not all playing the same kind of character)

In answer to your question, when it comes to D&D I‘d say you’re probably better off specializing because that’s how the game is optimized. But it shouldn’t matter too much because 5e has bound probabilities so there’s not a huge difference between being okay at something and being very good at it.

This is very impressive spreadsheet work I’ve got to say.

There’s a reason I mostly stick to my “mutuals” feed

In the last session, the PCs, a group of scientists from the Geholgod Institute and some other Company hires, arrived at 26 Draconis, only for a gravitational shift to crash their ship into Erebos Station, crippling it and stranding them with a bunch of ill-tempered prisoners and their wardens.

We'll be playing on a combination of Discord and Foundry VTT and although we've got a full party roster, spectators are welcome if they wish to hop in and listen in (I'll also stream my screen for those who wish to do so).

Thanks not sure if this is it but I guess I hadn’t added guest players to the channel yet so hopefully it works now

One reason that might be underrated? Using the term “special operation” could well be a purposeful attempt to undersell a major military endeavor as a small one, which is exactly what Putin did in Ukraine in 2022.

More than 3 years later and over 1 million people dead and he’s still pretending.

I def get that

It’s also 100% clear Lucy is supposed to be a stand in for PCs anyway so, you know, it’s still very in the spirit of the games
November 13, 2025 at 11:38 PM
Yeah honestly I feel like with these kind of things Nash just comes across as the worst stereotype of a nerd complaining about stuff. The show doesn’t hold the game as sacrosanct and inviolable? Good! It’d be a crappy show if it did!

The victims in the second season, at least based on the episodes I go through, seemed more disposable and less interesting in their own rights.

I think they also forgot what made the best episodes of the first season memorable: not the wacky murders but the strong emotional connections Charlie made with either the victims or (in some cases) the murderers.
