It’s very rarely that I don’t find some important insights from pretty much any long form piece @mskellymhayes.bsky.social writes. So I’m definitely ready for this book and you should be too.
My publisher’s been very patient. I’m not doing everything I said I’d do to promote this book (out in a few weeks) because I’m an organizer in a city under federal attack. My days are full and emotionally exhausting. Any help getting the word out means a lot. It's a book people need right now.

Besides all the creative solutions people are discussing, there’s one thing everyone can do:

M A S K
COVID vaccines-which saved 1.4 million lives 2020-2024 (jamanetwork.com/journals/jam...) won't be easy to get now, though the disease still kills 100 people weekly. Today FDA changed approval to cover only senior citizens; kids/adults w/ health problems will have to jump thru unknown hoops.🧪🩺
COVID Vaccines Are Still Saving Lives—But They Will Be Harder to Get This Year
Many questions still surround COVID vaccine access this fall, but here’s what we know so far

We’ll say it again: Criminalizing masks does not make New Yorkers safer.

In reality, it puts our health at risk, opens the floodgates for racist enforcement, threatens to exile some people with disabilities from society, and undermines protections for protestors.
NEW: New York Democratic Governor Kathy Hochul is reviving her push to ban masks and is urging New York State lawmakers to include a mask ban in the upcoming state budget.

This move endangers public health and threatens civil liberties.

Rude but funny 😆 Now that being said, part of the reason why folks don’t like green tea is because they don’t brew it correctly. You’re not supposed to use boiling water. That tends to make it too bitter. So try lower temp water first and if you still hate it, then throw it out 🙂
Here’s a tip for drinking green tea in the morning… add 2 tsps of organically grown agave then throw it out & drink a cup of coffee

This rhetoric is dangerous. Instead of solving the real issues, masks are being used as a convenient scapegoat by some politicians. Banning masks will not prevent crime, but will put people’s lives in greater danger from public health threats.
