Ik was research aan het doen voor een edito en ik kwam toevallig op de statistiek dat Spanje in 2013 een werkloosheidsgraad had van 27 procent (!). Nu is dat rond de 10.

Er zijn veel gelijkenissen met de jaren 2000. De dotcombubbel was meer dan een enorme beurshype. Er was een vergelijkbare wedloop in infrastructuur. Niemand weet echt hoe de techgiganten de honderden miljarden aan investeringen in AI zullen terugverdienen.

The analysis usually goes like this: Energy crisis? Wasn’t that bad. Just cost us a bit of GDP and some industrial sectors. Dirty trade deal with Trump? Not that bad - just a slice of GDP. Lack of tech prowess? Not that bad. We can import it from America. Just a slice of productivity.
