I think one of the worst quirks of online spaces is the idea that if someone doesn't post about something, they don't care about it. It encourages performative posting often makes things worse.

It's funny how the first half of The Secret History lulls you into that melancholic, warm and blurry sense of safety, murders included, only to slap you in the face with how fucked up everyone really is in the second half. Never gets old.
