This is such a friendly reminder to keep good habits daily. All these things are great for both mental and physical health! I think that a lot of us forget to move our bodies daily, drink water, and train our minds. I love this post, and I'll keep it in mind going forward!@beh353.bsky.social #beh353

I gained a much better understanding of nutrition over the course of this semester. Now that I have this crucial foundation, as I’m going into healthcare, I can apply it in various ways. I’m very passionate about nutrition and health, so this is very important to me! @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

Wow!! I knew that ultra-processed foods were bad for you, but I didn't know they could do so much damage. Now knowing this, I will be very careful about what I consume in the future. Especially with finals approaching, I want my body to be properly fueled and healthy. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

Finals is a stressful time for students- so it is so important for proper fuel and nutrition! I personally love to fuel my body with lots of protein (cottage cheese, chicken, ground beef, etc.), paired with lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. So delicious and nutritious! @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

This relates to what we learned about this week- kids and healthy habits. Health goes beyond just food though- health is a lifestyle. Yoga is great for both physical and mental health. This is awesome! Everyone should be doing this- start kids young with doing yoga! @beh353.bsky.social #beh353
The mission of Kids’ Yoga Day is to make the life-changing practice of yoga accessible to everyone, regardless of age, location, or finances. See online yoga classes #KidsYogaDay #Yoga kidsyogaday.com

This is a great reminder because I know that so many people tend to skip meals, or they feel guilty for fueling their body with food. The thing is, our bodies need food to function! Skipping meals is not for sustainable for losing weight. Treat yourself, and stay healthy! @beh353.bsky.social #beh353
Food = fuel AND joy (+ culture, experience, love, etc.). You’re allowed to eat without guilt. No burpees required.

One thing that struck me about Tom Carroll's story was the rude comment (about Tom's weight) made by a healthcare professional at his doctor's office in 2019. This made him stop visiting the doctors & hurt him deeply. Other people's words have a serious impact on others. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

This is so true! It seems as though every few years a new body type is idealized and "perfect" in society's eyes. But the reality is, bodies cannot be "reconstructed" every time a new body trend is out. Society has a lot of impact on culture & diet (fad diets especially). @beh353.bsky.social #beh353
I’ve seen a lot of commentary about “super skinny coming back into fashion”.

It’s 2025 - can we please accept that bodies aren’t infinitely changeable, we can’t reconstruct them on a trend… it’s not fashion or a trend; it’s just bias.

James Corden was right when he stated that fat shaming is simply just bullying, which leads to depression & self-destructive habits. In his video he also discussed a study that linked being obese to a hormone called leptin. Genetics can play a role, I didn't know this! @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

This is so true! Prepping food ahead of time can help save money (optimal use of ingredients and planning = less food waste). It is also healthier because you can plan wholesome & delicious foods, and enjoy them whenever desire! Meal prepping is just amazing! #beh353 @beh353.bsky.social
Packing your lunch saves money, cuts food waste, and keeps you fueled with balanced nutrition! Try prepping ingredients ahead, using leftovers, and packing snacks to avoid vending machine temptations. A little planning goes a long way! What’s your favorite packed lunch? #RealWorldNutrition

I chose "Unhealthy diet of friends and family", because I feel like that is my biggest barrier to healthy eating. When I'm out with my friends on the weekends, we always seem to resort to eating fast food because it seems to be the most easy & appealing. Balance is key! #beh353 @beh353.bsky.social

Healthy eating or lifestyles do not need a label. Proper nutrition intake is the only thing that matters. Many diets, especially fad diets, create communities these days. As long as everyone is healthy, this shouldn't be a problem. This is so right- "Keep an open mind."! #beh353@beh353.bsky.social
We love to give diets a name; people love to create communities around them. People form factions to advocate for and against them. Quite often, this does more to harm than help.

There's a common belief that vitamin C can almost instantly cure sicknesses like a cold. Taking vitamin C as a supplement can potentially reduce the time of being sick, however this doesn't mean it will fully prevent sickness. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353 medlineplus.gov/ency/article...

Fiber is so important to pair with protein to help you feel full. This is because the food takes longer to digest. These options are great because they will keep you satisfied for longer. I also love stuffed peppers with quinoa and beans, as well as smoothies with nuts. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353
Snacking can be part of a healthy diet when done right! Choose fiber & protein-rich options like nuts, hummus, or Greek yogurt to stay satisfied and alert. Be mindful of portions, and keep snacking in check—and have no guilt! #RealWorldNutrition #HealthySnacking

I'm sure a lot of us have heard about the keto diet recently. This diet emphasizes high fat & high protein, while consuming little carbs. I really love to indulge in pasta dishes, however I tend to avoid them because I always feel hungry after. The problem is, I lack protein & vegetables (for fiber to keep me satiated) within the pasta. So, from now on I will be sure to add these! Voila- a balanced dish! #beh353 @beh353.bsky.social

This is a clever way to fix cravings even when your body is not actually hungry. Sometimes I find a disconnect between what my mind wants vs what my body wants. Consuming low calorie, but satisfying meals like this is a genius way to solve this issue & reduce overeating. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

I'm pretty conscious about what I consume. I wasn't surprised when I noticed my 24-hour recall of foods was primarily whole foods (not processed). This wasn't hard to do, and I think it was accurate for me. Nothing surprised me about my diet, since I am aware of it.
