Neuroscientist. Visual Attention: expectations, uncertainty, eye movements, retinotopy. Dynamical systems modeling. Networks and dimensional reduction. Circadian rhythms. Generally optimistic.
My next door neighbor, Roxanne Lanquetot, died this morning at the age of 92. Her husband Guy, and son Sergei who had schizophrenia predeceased her. She spent her life teaching, in social work, and with NARSAD. She was a delightful woman who eventually pushed me towards psychiatric neuroscience. RIP

Do you ever stop and think about how there used to be pterosaurs? A fun new study shows that pterosaurs used to eat plants (they'd been expected to be carnivores) & like modern birds, they had stones in their gullets called gastroliths that help break down plants 🧪 @science.org

New Paper! We use bioluminescent markers in the Suprachiasmatic Nucleus on Per2 protein in slice data to model the relationship between phase and brightness, use that model to assess phase in intact SCN, and then use that data to model the damage of tissue slicing: journals.plos.org/ploscompbiol...
