Devastating news for the Tapanuli orangutan.

"The destroyed areas would have contained some 35 orangutans, and considering the violence of the destruction it wouldn't surprise us if they are all dead. That's a major blow to the population."

COP30 overpromised, underdelivered, empowered distractions, backtracked on issues and once again gave big oil and big ag a free pass.

Unfortunately, the suspicions of climate scientists (here in Brazil and abroad) were confirmed again.

Paid my respects to the Fitz’s 50th anniversary of her wreck. National Museum of the Great Lakes had great commemorative things from the actual ship. Very cool to see.

A 2023 marine heat wave left two species of coral in the Florida Coral Reef “functionally extinct."

But some corals survived, and scientists are working on innovative ways to help reefs recover. There is still hope if we act now. Read: https://cbsn.ws/4qxilVu

U.S. Congress wants to gut the law that protects all the marine mammals we adore – such as sea otters, walruses, polar bears, and more.

Why limit protections for the animals we love?

U.S. Congress is considering gutting the Marine Mammal Protection Act – the law that keeps whales, seals, sea otters & more safe from harm.

Spotted Lanternflies! I’m sure you’ve been seeing a lot about them. They can really disrupt an ecosystem and are a very pesky invasive species. They take over fast too. One of the counties close to me in my state has them terribly rampant. So how do we combat them? Here are ways you can help.
