Paid my respects to the Fitz’s 50th anniversary of her wreck. National Museum of the Great Lakes had great commemorative things from the actual ship. Very cool to see.

3. Probably the most important one, milkweed. Yes milkweed is toxic and deadly to the lanternflies and it helps monarch butterflies lay their eggs. You’ll be doing a two for one help on the environment if you plant milkweed! Photo credit: National Wildlife Federation.

2. Bat houses! Native bats eat the lanternflies and pollinate as well! You will do a lot of good for your backyard if you introduce them.

1. Step and squish! They are tricky and they will see you coming at them. You gotta act fast and outsmart them. Sometimes they jump forward knowing you’re gonna get them.

Remembering forever the amazing, Steve Irwin who sadly passed 19 years ago. He continues to inspire us still today. I’ll never forget the impact he had on me and other conservationists around the world. Crocs rule!

The shark I’m tracking decided to go find somewhere else to hunt at maybe. Still all around Florida and has reached North Carolina as well! What a swimmer.

I know I mostly post about conservation and zoology but I want to say rest in peace real quick to Brent Hinds formerly of Mastodon. Mastodon and Brent have a huge impact on me as a musician and music lover. Rest in peace, Brent! I guess they can say we can set this world ablaze.

What is a dire wolf? Aenocyon dirus were canines that shared an ancestor with gray wolves 5.7 million years ago. They lived during the Late Pleistocene and Early Holocene. They are actually a separate lineage of the canine family. They aren’t technically wolves as we know them.

I’m very mixed on the de-extinction company, Colossal Biosciences. Let’s talk about their recently made dire wolves real quick. 🧬

Yesterday was Pi Day! I learned a lot about pied tamarins. My local zoo is working to help repopulate them in the wild with only 2,000 remaining in their native home. #PiDay #AZA #SSP
