I love our country, but Nigel Farage wants to turn it into Trump’s America. We can’t let him.

Choose a brighter future with the Liberal Democrats.
The United Kingdom is at its best when we’re true to our values: tolerance, decency, respect for individual freedom and the rule of law.

We can't let Nigel Farage throw that all away by turning Britain into Trump’s America.

Choose a brighter future with the Liberal Democrats.

At a time of growing political instability and jeopardy, rejoining the EU isn’t an academic issue or one borne of nostalgia. It’s a matter of political necessity.

Cooperation is more effective than isolation - working with our European neighbours is the best way to defeat the threats facing Britain.

X's AI tool Grok reportedly produced 3 million sexual deepfakes in 11 days - today the Commission reacted and opened another formal investigation into X under the Digital Services Act.

Here is what the investigation is about ⬇️🧵

We are opening an investigation into Grok because we believe that X may have breached the DSA.

We have seen antisemitic content, non-consensual deepfakes of women, and child sexual abuse material.

In Europe, no company will make money by violating our fundamental rights.

With Trump in the White House, the US can no longer be treated as a reliable ally.

Britain must step up fast. His tariffs will hurt the British people.

That’s why we’re pushing for a customs union.

Boom! Incredible win in the North Cotswolds, coming from nowhere to replace the Greens and beat the Conservatives.

In seats like this and across the country, it’s the Liberal Democrats who can beat the Tories and stop Reform.

457 British troops lost their lives in Afghanistan.

Trump avoided military service 5 times.

How dare he question their sacrifice. Farage and all the others still fawning over Trump should be ashamed.

Watching Mark Carney's Davos speech and his total clarity and gravity about the world having turned fills me with embarrassment about Keir Starmer's self-abasement to Trump. It doesn't work!

I understand the historical reason for still calling yourselves a newspaper but when you are competing against so many diverse media, to me it no longer makes sense.

This shows Starmer’s approach to Trump has failed. The Chagos Deal was sold as proof the government could work with him, now it’s falling apart.

It's time for the government to stand up to Trump; appeasing a bully never works.

@alfietobutt.bsky.social I believe that for a second night running, the FT is missing from your newspaper roundup. Is there a good reason for this?

Weak, weak, weak. This appeasement must end.

Starmer should be uniting with our allies against Trump's threats, not splitting off to suck up to him.

The government must work with our European partners on retaliatory measures to hit Trump and his cronies where it hurts, unless he drops these tariffs.

It's time to show that Britain stands with our allies and we won’t be bullied into submission.

The PM must tell Trump in no uncertain terms: if he goes ahead with these outrageous tariffs and continues to bully Greenland, there’ll be no state visit to the US in April.

The UK must not be a doormat for an extortionist, or reward Trump’s behaviour with the pageantry he craves.

Starmer needs to finally stand up to Trump.

He should visit Greenland and show the world that Britain stands with NATO and stands with our allies when it matters.

Keir Starmer failed to answer my question at PMQs, so today I’ve written to his minister to demand action.

She should strip South East Water of their licence immediately.

Thousands of people are still without water. The Government has no time to lose.

Imagine waiting 31 hours in A&E for a hospital bed, stuck on a plastic chair. That’s what Sandra faced at 71 with bladder cancer.

And she's not alone, hundreds of thousands routinely wait 12+ hours for a bed. So why isn't Keir Starmer backing our plan to end 12 hour waits?

No Kemi, Trump threatening to invade a NATO ally is not a "second order issue."

It’s a direct challenge to Britain’s security and the future of NATO.

I live next to a tiny car park in some woodland. For the last eight weeks a young lady has slept there in a campervan every night going off during the day and coming back at night. Tonight she has not come back and I hope she has gone home, perhaps to family, to celebrate Christmas.
