This is just like UBI. Every study shows it works and is more cost effective but societies‘ hatred of poor people means we‘d rather pay more to make them suffer.
Anderson Cooper: “So it's more expensive to have a chronically homeless person living on the streets than it is to actually subsidize an apartment for them?”

Answer: “Yes, we’re paying more as taxpayers to walk past that person on the street and do nothing…” #HousingFirst

I’m really tired of hearing affluent people using the excuse, “I don’t waste time on things I can’t control”

Then they go pay for AI subscriptions, buy Starbucks on the regular, and decline to participate in local politics.

If not you, then who? This is just cowardice and laziness.

I’m sure this will be entirely fine and will be completely unbiased and result in lots of legally and morally correct actions by the people using it…

Just kidding! They’ll likely horribly misuse it to target innocent people and escalate the damage they’re already doing to communities across the US.

In an era where people are being monitored closely and fired, deported, or detained for their private views… there seems to be a bipartisan push to remove anonymity online…

Something, something “but what about the children?!” Simpson’s quote.

If you have access to AI, you are probably richer than most of humanity.

Actual poor people are not sitting on their phone prompting ChatGPT… they’re working in sweat shops for fast fashion.

People always be looking for justifications for their bad behaviour.

Our founders, though deeply flawed, understood that democracy requires an informed citizenry and a government accountable to it people. That’s why the press is the only profession protected by the Constitution. It’s also why autocrats and oligarchs seek to control and destroy it.

Well, it happens they were doing exactly that.

California seems to be building a massive amount of renewable energy and storage while not building a massive volume of new data centres.

That seems to be having the effect of actual drops in greenhouse gas emissions, particularly as batteries cut deep into gas

Cool, we have an inside source near the top of the corruption saying this was all Trump and Miller’s idea.

When you’re done with Noem and she’s in jail for her crimes, can we move onto putting the felon in chief and his human thumb “Minion Miller” there too?

"Canada lives because of the United States," Trump warned.

"Remember that, Mark."

Carney's speech showed backbone. Could it signal a shift in Canada's approach to the United States?

Let's discuss:
