I see lots of arguments involving Notre Dame and USC fans that makes me want to take both set of fans aside, throw my arms over their shoulders, and remind them that they both suck

Is this lack of attention to detail related to two different broadcast outages? Probably not, but it feels of a piece of
Someone in charge of graphics at Chase Center fucked up. (a) for athletics, it's just Cal, and (b) that's not how you spell Berkeley

Love that Cal came into this game - against a very turnover prone Columbia - with a defensive game plan emphasizing ball pressure

I laughed out loud 4 separate times reading this delightful takedown of a soulless cash grab.
“How many tables order this every night?” I asked.

“Almost all of them,” she said, with just a hint of resignation. defector.com/two-nights-p...

Miami not getting Fernando Mendoza out of the portal is an all time recruiting failure from one of college football's great recruiters.

Weird to watch a playoff game between two major programs and think "man Cal's QB clears these guys easy"

"But Kirk, the real genius of Muad'Dib's strategy was that he knew, and Shaddam IV didn't, that the Atreides family atomics were ready to make a new path to Arrakeen. When Stilgar and the Fedaykin appeared astride Makers in the new gap, the Battle for Arrakeen was all but over. Arrakis was Fremen."

USL supremacy confirmed
In the most MLS trade of all time, Toronto FC traded their first round draft pick to Colorado for a video analyst/assistant coach.

Colorado then used that pick to select a player already under contract at their club for 2026.

There aren’t many things that would make getting smashed by the most athletic 290 pound men to ever walk on earth worth doing, but healthcare for my family is on the list.
Although Philip Rivers made a return to pursue individual achievements, he also did something very useful for his big family in the process:

He extended his NFL-sponsored health insurance.

PUFF PUFF SHOOT

Stanford WBB 8-28 on 2s, and unfortunately for Cal they’re probably gonna need to force Stanford to shoot that badly inside in the 2nd half to win this

Stanford’s promotional commercial claims that they’re work to “code ‘ethical’ AI” so I guess they’re not claiming Sam Altman
December 14, 2025 at 9:34 PM
We’re getting an old school Cal/Stanford game, two teams absolutely dedicated to battering each other inside, with refs who are going to let most of it go.

If Cal has Fernando Mendoza on their roster this year, I think they go 8-4 at best, then he goes pro, and they probably don't have JKS on the roster next year.

Also, having Fernando might've saved Wilcox's job for another year, which would have been even more detrimental to Cal's long term health.
We’re in a wild scenario where Cal lost to transfer the consensus best quarterback in the country, and may actually be better off long term for it.

The Davey O'Brien Award for the nation's top QB goes to Indiana QB Fernando Mendoza.

Look I don’t have a problem if Cal MBB wants to play a midseason tune up against a DII team but I’m not going to waste my time watching it

Making Manny Diaz have to argue in favor of Duke being deserving of the playoffs is just embarrassing for everybody involved

They’re in the final minute of the Duke/Virginia broadcast and they’re talking about the Miami/Notre Dame/Alabama choice rather than Virginia’s drive. Playoff brain in its worst form

It's much less that one agent tells his clients what to say, and much more that the coaching industrial complex understands implicitly, without needing direction, that they have to have each other's backs to keep the gravy train rolling.

It's been tragic watching the twin paths of OSU and Wazzu after getting screwed by the dissolution of the Pac-12. OSU made a bunch of bad decisions and immediately bottomed out. Wazzu did everything right and their reward was a 6-6 season and getting their program picked clean by the rich twice over
