Chelsea's 2024/25 season is done (sort of), and I gave Maresca a report card. You can listen/watch here, but here's the slides below.

It’s always fun to me that both MLS and NWSL execs have an identical breed of brain rot that they have literally no idea what people like about their league

Easiest $100 I’ve ever spent.
Fifteen years ago, I got my dream job writing for MLSsoccer. Last week, that came to an end.

I'm off on my own, and it's time to build something new – with a little help from all of you.

The most fun thing about the Revs is that Carles Gil is the 45 year old mens league 10 who could pass a ball through a chain link fence

Remember when Chelsea fans were extremely big mad about not signing Kudus this summer?

Frank clearly didn’t scale his shit up to Spurs, but I reject the assertion that he wasn’t a better than normal pick to do so.

His Brentford team in the Championship were an insanely good attack. +42GD in 19/20, +37 in 20/21.

This is a guy who already changed his style!
February 11, 2026 at 1:52 PM
Not to be that guy but while this arsenal team is currently the best defensive team in the world, they conceded more goals than the best defensive team in EPL history by the end of January
is the big story in the Premier League right now just "no one can control games except arguably the greatest defensive team in the history of the EPL, which sort of can"

That was a pretty spectacular period of increasing pressure and tension for it to all be diffused by that miss, sometimes you just have to laugh

JP earning the funniest penalty 3 weeks in a row

I am lower than consensus on a TFC team with lots of flexibility to acquire talent but as of yet has not acquired said talent.

A thought I had today: I wonder if the PL ever breaks their referees away from the FA and starts paying the best referees from around the world to come be professional referees.

Going down a weird sports writing memory lane of articles I've enjoyed enough to save on my computer/phone, and this one feels pertinent tonight: grantland.com/features/the...

Some Boston kid Pats fan just signed up for a lifetime of sports suffering off the gut punch of tonight.

Honestly fitting given this has been a 0-0 game but Alajualense have spanked 4 shots from distance on a pitch infected with EM waves from a substation

You know some owners are angrily calling Goodell right now and he’s hitting them with the Michael Masi “it’s called a halftime show Robert”

If he brought out Daddy Yankee for Gasolina I would’ve hooted like an owl
I am only slightly disappointed he didn’t actually bring out Daddy Yankee

One of my first ever CD’s to listen to in the car was Ricky Martin, So this is fabulous

@mattdoyle.bsky.social however many points you gave TFC in your over under, it's too many

Turns out, we aren’t that different after all.
Watching some Lindsay Vonn footage from the Olympics, 1 week post ACL tear and my thought is:

I tore my ACL 9 months ago and have so much scar tissue I regularly stand up from sitting and think the scar tissue breaking up is my pants ripping (minimum 3 times a week). She is skiing in the Olympics.

2 new additions to the scarf wall

A lot of the ASA-erati attended the @americansoccerinsights.com summit at Rice University last week, and people wanted to talk about their experience.

So we convened the ASA roundtable for highlights.

I know the summer olympics is “more” the Olympics but I personally enjoy that the Winter Olympics are just in random winter cities. Like 2034 is in Salt Lake again.
