I watch way too much CNBC, but also care about more things than just investing and economics.

Tuned in to CNBC mid-day. Joe Kiernan hosting, telling viewers the only reason the government shutdown is still ongoing is because Dems are waiting for the #NoKings protest. He's not a journalist (or trustworthy) anymore. @cnbc.com , let him move to Fox angertorial timeslots, where he belongs.

It is possible for regular people to effectively organize to plan and complete large, complex, expensive projects that are usually only done by corporations. Will put examples in this thread as I encounter them.

"The idiocy of the political conspiracy defies repeating it." @steveliesman.bsky.social did not come to play. Thank you @cnbc.com for accurate reporting, and looking into these politically motivated lies that Trump is carelessly throwing around about the jobs numbers and the head of the BLS.

"When you go too far into your politicization, it becomes indecent" --> @steveliesman.bsky.social was very clear that Trump is lying about the head of the Bureau of Labor Statistics. @eamonjavers.bsky.social : "We see this in autocratic regimes a lot." #trumpislying #cnbc #economics

Keep saying it, @aukehoekstra.bsky.social. As long as we still have this conflict between truth and lies, and the blind obedience that enables those lies to have reach and real world effects, I'm willing to keep listening to that song on repeat.
In MAGA USA, any conflict between science/truth and the magnificent leader is quickly decided in favor of the leader. Truth doesn't matter. Obedience is paramount.

I must sound like a broken record, but this is all textbook fascism. That's not hyperbole but an observation.

from JP Morgan CEO Jamie Dimon's webcast this morning:

@chrismurphyct.bsky.social , doing the job so many others have abdicated.
Ok, so Republicans just introduced a 900 page bill none of them have read. But my team is going through it line by line and on this 🧵you can see the hidden provisions we found. Will update all day.

1/ NEW Medicaid cuts, so now 17 million - instead of 16M - lose health care.

There is a lot to love about our country. One of the many things is that you can tune in to the House of Representatives and the Senate, to watch what's going on live. Here is the link to the Senate live floor activity

A budget is a moral document. Show me your budget and I'll show you your values.

The Senate Republican budget proposal rips away health care and food from the needy to give tax cuts to the rich.

It’s immoral.

I tuned in to @cnbc.com Squawk Box to see jobs # commentary and was (once again) appalled by Santelli's dementia-like screaming over a guest. I've seen Kitty Richards (and others) rudely interruted on SB (by Kiernan & Santelli) before. I'd like to hear her thoughts on a different @CNBC show.

From Gundlach just now on @cnbc.com @scottwapner.bsky.social : "The hardest thing for an investment manager to do is to change your portfolio in a meaningful way after you've been right."

Wow.
