It’s not DNS
There’s no way it’s DNS
It was DNS

New blog post is up! When we talk about controlled data on ATProtocol, we focus on users and who they grant access to. But there's always a third party: the applications that store, relay, and render the data.
Permissioned data is a love triangle
Permissioned data is a love triangle between the user, the identities they grant permissions to, and the applications everyone uses to view controlled data. We don't need to change or reinvent the protocol to have it, because ATProtocol already supports it.

We've released a self-hostable reference implementation of a PLC read-replica service to make the Atmosphere ever more decentralized. @retr0.id has details on what this all means.

I have a pretty length follow up to my original privacy-aware views post that I've been hemming and hawing over. This is my public accountability post to just publish what I have.

Earlier this week, we detected some interesting signal activity over the UBC campus near Vancouver and have discovered an atmospheric anomaly forming.

Stand by as we analyze. 📡

It's great to see a website refresh. The mixed feelings I have about the stewardship model remain. Bluesky benefits from a lot of strategic ambiguity about whether the Atmosphere is theirs, or is a multiparty ecosystem that others have a stake in shaping.
We've been hard at work on a new website with new guides, better docs, more translations, even our very own blog. We think it looks pretty sharp, too. It's now easier than ever to just build things with AT Protocol.

- HappyView for the AppView
- AIP for OAuth (proxied from HappyView)
- Tap for backfill and data from the Jetstream

Still trying to work out some kinks in the dashboard, but I'll have a big HappyView release pretty soon. 😀
