This weekend was a very successful intro of @jackiefox.bsky.social's Rock Hard to a couple of friends.

The winner ran away with it and had a very interesting strategy! They didn't even bother with a demo. Just took loads of candy and partied as hard as possible.

Rock & Roll, dude!

Sky Team makes for a great midweek game. Nice short scenarios, but you can keep at it if you're ready for another!

Our airline should have probably been called "Crash Landings" when we played on Wednesday.

Very secure banking apps choosing to still hide your card number and having no way of retrieving it apart from the physical card is absolutely infuriating.

I really enjoy the summer pavillon variation of Azul.

I like the wild card mechanics and I think getting bonus tiles as you surround spaces is also cool.

Playing the original is now looooong overdue though - we need our own copy!

Harmonies hit the table tonight. This game is such a lovely pattern builder - so much interest in getting those cards designed!

It has a slight double-edged sword. For one, I love the fact it plays out quick and short, but I still find every game I'm not ready for it to finish yet 😂😂.

Me and Abbs have stepped up our 2-player gaming experience with some lights we can clip onto our coffee table 😂.

They're great for these darker nights.

I'd recommend these carcosonne grids - make it very nice to move the board around a small table space. We didn't buy enough though!

I was pretty gutted that Solo had such a bad run because I think he absolutely nailed the brief.

His terrible actor in Hail Cesar was absolutely sublime as well.
watching WEAPONS and i have said this before but i am such a big fan of alden ehrenreich. he is a very charismatic and enjoyable actor and would love to see him in more stuff.

Carcosonne is always a lovely play. Does anyone else ever think how differently they played it when first having a go?

Love games like that!

When playing cockroach poker royals I came to the conclusion that cockroach poker royals does not need to be a thing.

Cockroach poker is fine and just feels right for pulling it out of a bag, laying it out and playing with a quick flow.

Royals feels like it took a lot of that away.

The new Thrice album is an absolute banger. I've been loving it so far.

This track seems to be a standout.

We had such a great game of New Angeles a few weeks back. 6 players, not too long, everyone sacrificing the city for their own greed. Back stabbing, betrayal...

Incredible scenes.

Second night of gaming last weekend was votes for women by the wonderful @downtowntbrown.bsky.social.

This game literally came down to the last vote - incredible scenes! I'd intro'd it to a friend for the first time and they loved it. 😊

Been a while for me as well, so welcome revisit!

The weekend's gaming had two nights of fun and the first was a mansions of madness scenario we almost found impossible. It started off so slow and then everything went very very wrong.

The monsters absorbed us....

The thing I've always just absolutely adored about the Samsung calendar I use, is the fact that if I start typing an event, it shows the previous one as an option... Copying over the exact times & everyone you last invited.

Wonderful for when picking a boardgame night each month.

Okay, my wife just dashed into the kitchen showing me this...

It looks GORGEOUS. Looks like Sandara Tang's (Flamecraft) work.

Anyone any experience of this game? I'd never heard of it!!

La Fleur is another great game that uses this theme. Doesn't quite get you in the moment as well, but the mechanics are fun and everything about it looks lovely!

I think my wife would pick la Fleur over Obsession, whereas I'd be vise versa 😊.
I'm bookmarking this to go back and see which of those games in the upper-right image you'd particularly recommend. Also, I'm still looking for #Victorian / #Edwardian -themed games, having added Obsession, Deadly Dowagers, High Society and Bluebeard's Bride so far. #ttrpg #boardgame

This is gutting. I missed Thrice the last time they were over and the Ritz is my absolute favourite venue!

Would have to fall on the Airecon weekend, wouldn't it??

We very much enjoyed our first game of knitting circle. You still really feel the vibes of Calico, but standing on its own 4 feet.

More to it, but less stressful as well!

Size/accessibility of text was a but of a shame though - very hard on the eyes.

If I’m being honest, I’m feeling pretty crap about my small business.

It’s so bloody difficult at the moment with rising costs, US tariffs, Brexit nonsense and the threat of AI.

Abbs lost an insane 48 points in patchwork tonight because of empty spaces and she still took the win! A very low scoring round, but great fun nonetheless.

I just couldn't seem to build good income early on and suffered as a result.

As is becoming somewhat traditional, we try to pull together a big Game of Thrones on Abbs' b'day - it's the game that started it all, so somewhat sentimental!

We only had 4, but that meant we could try the vassal mechanics.

One of those rare exps that drastically improved a game.
