Chief Justice John Roberts turns 71 today.

Two decades ago, I warned the Senate that confirming Roberts to the Supreme Court would be a disaster for working people.

I'm sad to say I was proven right. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ir5kmPdRJLw

Something important to understand about ICE thugs in the Twin Cities is that they're harassing innocent kids and parents at bus stops and schools every single day. Even after the Pretti shooting. It's terrorism.

So the government shutdown doesn't affect the ICE thugs? Then we have no government. ABOLISH ICE and throw the trash administration in the dumpster.

People seem to have forgotten that the establishment of Homeland Security was highly controversial as it was seen as a danger to democracy. It was feared that it would one day be used AGAINST the American people. And here we are.

If you didn’t call your senators already to demand a no on tomorrow’s funding vote, what’s stopping you from doing it today?

In late 2025 Elliott Management acquired Citgo from Venezuela at a steep discount just before U.S. military and political pressure increased on Caracas.

Critics argue that changes in U.S. policy have enriched Paul Singer while risking U.S. soldiers’ lives.

THIS. Strike while they're vulnerable.
The killing of Alex Pretti and the grotesque lying was an overreach by the administration. They've paid a price and had to pull back a bit. But it's when there's some disarray that the democratic opposition needs to intensify the offensive, and turn a marginal tactical success into a major victory.

I call my senators / congresswoman often.
It's my duty, and it's not difficult *at all*. What's actually difficult about it is pushing through my resentment.
These are folks I pay *really well* to be decent.
And I resent having to PLEAD with them to do be decent.
It makes me feel crazy.

Today’s retreat is absolutely an attempt to take pressure off of Congress to rein in ICE so that a funding package can get through.

That pressure has been effective. We can celebrate Minneapolis’ win but we need to keep the pressure on. They’re not going to stop forever.

It's not radical to think every vote should count.

It's not radical to think every constituency should matter.

It's not radical to think 34% of the vote is not a landslide.

It's not radical to want to vote for the party you truly support.

It's common sense. #PRnow

I will give Suozzi more credit than he gives himself. He knew what the vote was. He just figured the way to "win" was to support the funding because that's more "centrist" and buck the Democratic majority. But morally, he knew what this was about. He ended up wrong morally AND politically.
