Reminder that, as of the latest reports, Liam Ramos is still in prison in Texas - now for 5 days.

His parents are legal asylum seekers with no criminal record.

i think the "immigration turns high trust societies into low trust societies" people were already on really shaky ideological ground but now they're watching neighbors helping one another and calling them paid antifa agitators

"I am a children's entertainer who specializes in face painting," writes a woman now in hiding from the federal government for witnessing a state-sanctioned street execution
You have to read this. Firsthand affidavit from one of the women who was there and recording the video. She talks about how Alex Pretti was directing traffic when she arrived. She watched him be killed in front of her. She's afraid to go home, worried she'll be arrested.

It’s currently operating totally outside of our constitutional rules. Habeas corpus , due process of law, equal protection, freedom of speech, 4th amendment protections against search and seizure, are all not being enforced in any common sense or meaningful way.

This must be weird news to see if you’re one of the literally hundreds or even thousands of university administrators who preemptively censored faculty, scrubbed websites, changed the names of centers, etc.

If a President works with the law to modestly to forestall catastrophic climate change CEOs loudly invoke the Boston Tea Party. If a President violates the constitution and personal freedom they shower him with cash and privately snitch in the Wall Street Journal. Profiles in courage.
CEOs have tried their hardest to stay on the political sidelines since President Trump started his second term. The pushback against the immigration crackdown in Minneapolis is changing that.
Minneapolis ICE Standoff Has Become the Political Issue CEOs Can’t Ignore
The immigration-enforcement operation in Minnesota is pushing the bosses of businesses like Hilton and Target to change their playbooks.

AI can do lots of stuff but what it can’t do is care work which we’ll need a whole lot more of in the next century.
This is so funny after the incessant ads from Palantir about empowering, not replacing the American worker.

If you're only reading headlines and see "Trump Says He Won't Use Force" it will give you a misimpression of both how bellicose this speech is and how dug in he is on Greenland.
